The more stones, the softer the steam when water is thrown on the heater. For example, the Hive and Steel lineup has the most stones, which means nice and even steam. Below is a quick run-down on all the models and what is special about them:
- HUUM Drop: The only wall-mounted heater from HUUM, ranging from 4.5kW to 9kW sauna heaters. Has the least amount of stones since it is placed on the wall, unlike the other models. Best for smaller saunas.
- HUUM Cliff: Freestanding heater that has a bit more stones than the Drop, ranging from 6kW to 9kW sauna heaters. Has the smallest footprint out of all the freestanding models, but also the largest safety distance requirement to anything combustible.
- HUUM Steel: The big brother to the Cliff, this heater fits 330lbs of stones and comes in 6kW to 10.5kW versions. The main difference to the Cliff is that the Steel has 165lbs more stones even though they look similar.
- HUUM Hive Mini: Very similar to the Steel, has the same amount of stones but in a different form factor. The Hive Mini comes from 6kW to 10.5kW heaters.
- HUUM Hive: This is the largest and most powerful model you can get from HUUM. It can fit 528lbs of stones, and it comes in 12kW, 15kW, and 18kW options. If that is not enough, don't worry, you can connect multiple heaters in the same room if needed. Ask more from us here.
- HUUM Hive Wood: Fits 287lbs of stones, plenty of stones for nice löyly (steam). Shares the same aesthetics as the electric versions of Hive and Hive Mini.
- HUUM Hive Flow: The Flow is HUUM's newest model and has the most efficient burn we have seen, meaning you rarely need to add firewood in the heater to keep the space warm.
All HUUM electric heaters come in 240V/1PH, but can be wired for 208V/1PH if desired. However, this will decrease the power output by approximately 25%, so remember to factor this into your heater selection.
How are they controlled?
All HUUM electric sauna heaters are controlled with the UKU controller. There are two main differences between the controls: WiFi-capable and non-WiFi-capable. If you choose to go for a WiFi-capable controller, you can monitor and turn on the heater when not at home, for example, when coming home from work.
All control panels are recommended to be installed outside the sauna room, but there are a few that can also be installed inside the sauna as long as you follow the instructions.
Control panels that can be mounted inside the sauna room:
- HUUM Glass Controls (Black, Mirror, and Gold)
- HUUM Wood Controls
